Trailing Spouses is a comedy-drama series about a worldly but world-weary, middle-aged American expat wife and stay-at-home mother who suffers a midlife crisis after her husband has an affair with a younger woman. With the support of her friends, she must recover from her trauma, redefine herself, and reclaim her life story—all without losing her sense of humor. Set in a small Dutch village in the Netherlands, Trailing Spouses will explore themes of mental health, female friendship, and midlife, and ultimately, will shed light on what it means to be “a woman of a certain age.”
