Augusta Locke is a limited series about a restless but resourceful young woman who must forge her own path after finding herself unexpectedly pregnant and on her own in the precarious patriarchal society of early twentieth century Wyoming. With just her wits to support her, she must survive trial after trial, including an assault by her stepfather, a lengthy separation from the man she loves, the birth and subsequent kidnapping of her daughter, and the designs of men who want to subdue or destroy her — all while trying to find work and a place to call home. Based on the novel of the same name by William Haywood Henderson, Augusta Locke will explore themes of sexism and self-determination.
